Use Shopify’s theme editor for storefront presentation. Use virtual.fit for product availability, customer access, and usage limits.

Theme editor settings

Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → Virtual Fitting Room.

Button and guidance

SettingWhat it changes
Button TextLabel shown on the product media control.
Upload Hint TextPhoto guidance shown before upload.
Generate Button TextLabel on the action that starts a try-on.
Try-On Button PositionLeft or right placement over the main product media.
Use short labels that fit narrow mobile galleries. Keep upload guidance specific: ask for a clear, well-lit photo showing the shopper from the front.

Appearance

Turn on Customize Appearance to set:
  • Background color and opacity.
  • Text color.
  • Theme font preset.
  • Border style, color, and thickness.
  • Theme, custom, or pill corner style.
Use Advanced CSS Overrides only when the standard controls cannot match your theme. Re-test custom values after theme updates.

Product card badges

Product card badges can show which products support try-on before a shopper opens the product page.
  • Turn Show Try-On Badges on Product Cards on or off.
  • Set the badge text and left or right placement.
  • Reuse the try-on button appearance or style the badge separately.
Confirm badges appear only on Active products and never cover pricing, sale, or inventory badges. Check both collection grids and search results on mobile.

Terms and email

The app embed supports:
  • Automatic language detection, English, or Estonian disclaimer copy.
  • A custom short disclaimer and full terms.
  • Optional email collection.
  • Required email validation when collection is on.
  • A custom daily-limit message.
Merchant terms and privacy notices are your responsibility. Review custom legal copy with your counsel. Describe results as AI previews, not guarantees of physical fit, size, color, or proportion.

virtual.fit settings

Open Setup in virtual.fit.
Choose Allow anonymous for the lowest-friction experience, or Require login when every try-on must be tied to a known customer. If login is required, verify that Shopify returns the shopper to the same product page.
Set how many try-ons one shopper may start per day. Test the limit message so it gives the shopper a clear next step.
Shopper uploads and generated results are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Treat exported or downloaded files according to your own privacy policy.
Safety checks are always applied to shopper uploads. There is no storefront setting required to turn them on.
